How it works

From first visit to finished terrace

Four steps, each one considered, from the first conversation to the stone underfoot.

  1. A homeowner and designer looking over terrace plans at a kitchen table in Bristol

    Consultation

We visit your garden in Bristol or Bath to talk through how you'll use the terrace.

  2. A garden designer sketching a terrace layout over a site plan in a Bristol studio

    Design & stone selection

We draw the terrace and choose natural stone to suit your garden and budget.

  3. A stonemason setting natural stone slabs on a prepared sub-base in a Bath garden

    Build

Our team lays the stone, sets the falls and finishes the edges by hand.

  4. A finished natural stone terrace with garden furniture and planting at dusk in Bristol

    Handover

We walk the finished terrace with you and leave planting ready to establish.

FAQ

Natural stone terrace questions

Answers to what homeowners in Bristol and Bath ask before building a terrace.

Still deciding on stone?

Call the studio Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Which natural stone do you use for terraces?

We select stone to suit each garden and setting — York stone, sandstone and limestone are common choices across Bristol and Bath. We'll talk through options at your first visit.

Do you design the terrace as well as build it?

Yes. Garden design and landscape build sit within the same studio, so the terrace is drawn as part of the wider garden before we lay a single stone.

How long does a stone terrace take to build?

Timing depends on the size of the terrace and the stone chosen. We'll set out a build programme once the design is finalised.

Do you work on gardens in Bath as well as Bristol?

Yes, we design and build gardens across Bristol and Bath.

Can you include garden lighting with a terrace?

Yes, garden lighting can be designed alongside your terrace so the space works after dark too.

Do you provide a cost estimate before starting?

We provide a free quote after an initial visit, once we understand the size and stone for your terrace.
